YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND TEAM

Are you passionate about Machine Learning, software engineering, and applying AI to sustainable use cases? Then join our Sustainability Management Platform team and help us support Sustainability Mangers in their daily work using modern ML- and LLM-based systems for various use cases. You'll contribute to building AI components, data pipelines, and modeling logic that enable our customers to make informed, sustainable decisions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • You support the development of our AI systems (including LLM-based approaches, embeddings, retrieval methods) to precisely calculate Carbon Footprints and more.
  • You develop and optimize Python code for data pipelines that integrate our emission factor database into existing systems.
  • You work with SQL to analyze, validate, and prepare data for use in ML models.
  • You support data modeling and the automation of accounting methodologies, keeping them aligned with current standards.
  • You support our Product Owners and the ML team with customer-specific research, prototyping, and modeling tasks.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO THRIVE

  • You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field, with at least 1 year of studies remaining.
  • You have solid Python skills and understand ML fundamentals (e.g. model training, evaluation, common algorithms) — the specific framework you've used matters less to us than the underlying understanding.
  • You've already worked with LLMs or built your own projects with them (e.g. prompting, RAG systems, embeddings) and want to apply that knowledge in practice.
  • You have solid SQL skills for data analysis and ETL.
  • You're interested in sustainability topics; prior experience with CO2 accounting (e.g. GHG-P, ISO) or emission factor databases (e.g. ecoInvent, GaBi) is a plus, but not required.
  • Very good written and spoken English.
  • Availability 2-3 days per week.
